Hämeenlinna Taekwondo Club
Hämeenlinna Taekwondo club was founded in 1984. The Finnish Taekwondo Union (STU) serves as the governing body for our club. We are also member of the Finnish Taekwondo Federation. We offer high-quality training in the fast-paced and versatile martial arts. In Taekwondo, you can practice kicks, punches, self-defense techniques, parries, sparring and sets of moves (poomsae). Hämeenlinna taekwondo club practices World Taekwondo (WT), which is an official Olympic sport. Taekwondo is suitable for of all ages and sizes, starting from 7 years old
Our head instructor, Anne Hiltunen (4th dan), has been practicing Taekwondo for over 20 years. She began her journey in 1992 at Riihimäki Taekwondo Club and was one of the founders of Länkyn Taekwondo Club in 2016. Anne is responsible for the quality of teaching.
Each of our club’s instructors are trained and committed to ongoing development, ensuring our members receive the best possible guidance and instruction.
Beginners course
The next beginner course starts in August 18, 2026! The beginners' course follows the kids training schedule shown below. Please note that we do not have separate groups in English! All classes are primarily conducted in Finnish. If needed, we will provide brief explanations in English to ensure everyone's active participation in the learning process. Minimum age for the course is 7 years.

License and Insurance
Participation in our classes does not require Taekwondo license. However, we highly recommend obtaining one, as the license grants the right to take part in events, camps, and competitions.
Please note that Hämeenlinna Taekwondo Club does not provide or insurance coverage to its members. Our instructors and coaches are not liable for any potential accidents.
We strongly advise acquiring accident insurance, even though accidents are extremely rare on our classes. A suitable insurance covering Taekwondo-related recreational and competitive activities can be acquired through the Finnish Taekwondo Federation. If you already have insurance, we recommend confirming whether they cover martial arts at both recreational and competitive levels.

Prices and payment details
Family discount
Members who have completed the basic course are eligible for a family discount!
If more than one member from the same family trains in our club, the other family members are eligible for a 50% discount on the season fees. The divided annual fee remains the same for everyone. In the table below, you can easily see the total season fee for each number of family members.

Belt test prices
the price includes the actual belt test and a new belt. The price of the belt examination is determined based on the current belt rank/color.
